چکیده

Neoechinorhyncus buttnerae is among the main causative agents of diseases in tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) and has caused great losses fish farming. Although important, there still no effective treatment protocol for acanthocephalosis. Therefore, aim this study was to evaluate vitro anthelmintic activity Chenopodium ambrosioides (mastruz) control buttnerae. Parasites were collected from intestine naturally infected animals randomly distributed Petri dishes containing following treatments triplicate standardized 5 mL RPMI1640 medium: TR1 (RPMI+spray-dried extract mastruz 10%); TR2 5%); positive (RPMI+levamisole 15 mg/mL); negative (RPMI). The parasites kept at room temperature observed every min, considered dead when they remained motionless even after external stimuli. Body deformities exposure (TR1 TR2), both with spray-dried controlling acanthocephalans first min experiment. been shown be an alternative N. potential continuing vivo studies developing a therapeutic protocol.

Transportation of juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) in a closed system.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of density, duration and the use of additives to the water during the transportation of juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) and use of this data to establish a safe transportation protocol for the species. The tested products and dosages were: salt (1000, 2000 and 3000 mg/L), gypsum (100, 300 and 500 mg/L) and benzocaine (10, 20 and...

The feeding activity of Colossoma macropomum larvae (tambaqui) in fishponds with water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) fertilizer.

Analysis of macrophyte water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) as an organic fertilizer of Colossoma macropomum (tambaqui) larvae in ponds is provided. Water hyacinth produce an organic fertilizer at the ratio of 100 g x m(-2) in tambaqui ponds. Two groups of 5,000 larvae were transferred to two fishponds with and without water hyacinth fertilizer and reared until day 43. The fertilized pond evid...

Growth curve by Gompertz nonlinear regression model in female and males in tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum).

Was evaluated the pattern of growth among females and males of tambaqui by Gompertz nonlinear regression model. Five traits of economic importance were measured on 145 animals during the three years, totaling 981 morphometric data analyzed. Different curves were adjusted between males and females for body weight, height and head length and only one curve was adjusted to the width and body lengt...
